The Karma Jar Concept
The Karma Jar program arose from the question, “How can we work together with patients to make a continuous impact in our local community?” The concept is simple. Choose a local charity every month that patients can donate their spare change to, and deliver that money to the charity at the end of each month. The impact, however, can be huge.
Our very first local beneficiary, Pet’s on Wheels, received just over $1,300 during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The lengths our patients will go to help those in need, even in difficult times, is humbling. As the number of patients we see increases, so should the amount raised every month. It’s exciting to watch this program grow, along with the impact it will make.

June Karma Jar beneficiary
We’re excited to have House of Ruth Maryland as a our Karma Jar Beneficiary for the month of June! All Karma Jar donations made in June will be designated to this amazing charity.
Financial donations are the best way to provide immediate help to the women and children who are in need of urgent support. When victims of domestic violence show up at House of Ruth, they come with very little, other than their children and their lives. House of Ruth Maryland provides the food, shelter, counseling, legal and other services that will ensure their continued survival.
It’s not a small undertaking, especially since police estimate that there are more than 200,000 incidents of domestic abuse in Maryland each year. Your generosity makes their work possible, and in return they work very hard to ensure every dollar you give makes a real difference in the lives of battered women and their children.
